Walk 22 – Westonbirt
28 February 2010
The problems around point G that have existed for a number of years have now been sorted out, in particular the path through the farm yard, which has now been cleared to the right of the gated yard and green metal fencing, along the top edge of the small embankment. The Right of Way here (called Sherston 7) is a narrow path, being less than 2 feet wide, (which is in accordance with the statement accompanying the definitive map) and here it is bounded on one side by tall hedgerow and on the other by a short but steep slope. Given the width and siting of this part of the path, it is clear that it would take very little growth from the hedgerow to quickly make walking along this narrow ridge untenable again.
Please keep me informed of any future problems
Thanks members of Wiltshire Ramblers for getting this long-standing obstruction sorted out.
