Walk 1 – Pucklechurch
1 December 2005
A number of small changes to the narrative to report:
Just after the start, the 17th century Moat farm is now a housing estate.
Between Points D & E, Shortwood House has been demolished.
Point F is now easy to locate as there is a 'Dramway Footpath' sign at the right turn. After climbing the stile and going through the wood to the two stiles, the left hand one has been replaced by a kissing gate through which you pass.
16 March 2011
How things have changed in the past 10 years. As well as the diversions and demolitions listed above, at Point D where you "emerge from woodland into a meadow", the meadow has been replaced by a large and rather smelly landfill site. Now, at the edge of the wood, head left and climb a stile onto path alongside the landfill site. Keeping the landfill on your right, walk down a wide gravelled path to the metalled lane (now with a bund hiding further excavations ahead). Turn right and follow the lane, soon bearing left and on to the railway path.
