Walk 14 – Bristol's Harbourside
23 March 2011
The redevelopment work between the start of walk and point B has been completed and you can now walk all the way using the quayside instead of Anchor Road and Canons Way - much more pleasant.
The statue of Samuel Plimsoll has been moved and is now passed on the quayside in front of one of the new harbourside developments near the old gasworks.
Between points G and H you can now walk through the Underfall Yard. The turning is on the left, just after you turn right at the Nova Scotia, signed Harbourside Walk. This 'permissive route' is sometimes closed to public access due to activities in the yard. There is a yellow painted hatched path which you need to keep to for safety. It certainly adds an interesting feature to the walk — you pass only a few metres away from the slipway. If access to the yard is closed follow the route as it appears in the book
Thanks To Robin Miller for this report
