Walk 22 – Painswick & Haresfield Beacon

There is now a charge for parking in Painswick, but it is only £1.20 for 5 hours.

 

Page 120: paragraph one. Line 3. The stile on the far side of the field has gone.

 

Page 123, para 3. At Tump Farm the footpath has been re-routed. (although Gloucester C.C. say the diversion has yet to be confirmed). At the gate to Tump Farm go right along a fenced footpath along the right boundary of the field. At the end of the path go through a new metal kissing gate, then diagonally left, descending to go through 2 other new metal kissing gates. Now head towards the woods going left before reaching them through a wooden gate and stile. Continue on with woods on your right, climbing another stile to reach a tarmac lane. Turn right along the lane to reach the gate to Randall's Farm. Go through the gate and turn right immediately. (The stile, high wire gate and gate marked 'Private' have been removed. )
