Walk 18 – Slaughterford
21 March 2004
There seems to be a real problem with two intimidating alsatian dogs that appear on the farm wall (last paragraph, page 96). Considering that this is a bridleway, the situation is unsatisfactory.
Can I appeal to anyone who passes this way and feels unhappy about the situation, to contact Wiltshire Council at:
Environmental Services Department
Wiltshire County Council
County Hall
Trowbridge
BA14 8JD
The location is Lower Rudloe Farm, grid ref ST84107016 The more complaints they receive, the more likely that action will be taken

Good news! A fence has been erected to stop the dogs savaging walkers. Still very intimidating though and I don't fancy horseriders' chances.

Page 97- 2nd para - Last sentence now to read - Just beyond, opposite the entrance to Euridge Manor, enter the field through a metal kissing gate in iron railings.
Last paragraph: delete ‘The right of way runs straight ahead, but the stile is overgrown, so go through the gap on the right, then turn left and walk ahead, passing the stile on the left.’
So, start last paragraph from: 'Follow the clear path across the field...'
Thanks to Ken Bishop for the information

Page 98, after Point K, some clarification is needed.
'...The path decends through woodland to emerge at a track junction.' Please now read: The path decends through woodland, then very steeply across a small scrubby field to the track junction.
Thanks to Phil & Chris Lawrence for the information
