Walk 2 – The Bluebell Walk
19 June 2010 (part of the WWA e-book revision)
The owners of Noah's Ark Farm have succeeded in obtaining a diversion order that stops walkers getting a free look at their captive animals. The diversion doesn't really detract from the walk, although it does shorten it.
So, page 12, para. 3. The route now reads: Beyond the stile, you are confronted with a seven foot fence. Turn right and keep the fence to your left, soon reaching woodland on your right. Continue, climbing gently and passing two fields to your left, to reach a path junction. Turn right and descend into woodland.
Page 14: text continues as printed.
Many thanks to Allan and Sarah Rogers for drawing the 'short straw' and checking this walk
Changes noted earlier:
First 3 lines on page 12 should read "… continue up this next field, boundary left, to a gate and stile with track beyond. Cross the track, climb the stile ahead and continue a few yards to a path junction where you take a signed path to the right, climbing through the trees."
The track at Point C is now a driveway.
Just before reaching the track at Point F, a new track has been opened up on the left where the rhododendrons have been cleared. Ignore this route and continue to the obvious cross track at the top of the rise.
Finally, at Point G, the derelict cottage has received a makeover!
